The No. 7-ranked prospect in the country for the Class of 2012, Arlington Grace Prep 7-foot center Isaiah Austin is one of the most highly recruited sophomore basketball prospects in the country. The nephew for former NBA center Ike Austin, Austin has been compared to Charlotte Bobcats’ center Tyson Chandler as a shot blocker.
Several schools across the country are already heavily recruiting Austin, including the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorns have an impressive collection of guard depth in the 2011 class but have yet to secure a commitment for 2012 and landing a big man is a must in the class for head coach Rick Barnes and his staff.
Austin recently traveled to the Jayhawk Invitational with his AAU team the Compton Magic to play in the prestigious tournament
Austin took a moment to talk to ESPN affiliate TheShiver.com (Kansas) about his recruitment among other things.
