This week’s Scoop profiles the Longhorns satellite camps from this week. Eric was in Houston and Justin hits Dallas. We’ve got names, notes, quote, and who might be offer worthy. Plus, Preston looks at three new hoops offers from Shaka Smart and his staff as they start to build the 2017 class. The Inside Scoop is on the scene.

We play everyone’s favorite recruiting game; Percentages. Some of UT’s top targets have a busy summer and we’ll breakdown each. We also look at a few newer prospects to appear on the Longhorns radar with notes and quotes. We take a closer look at what Texas Basketball will look like in 2016-17, and a surprise visitor is on campus today. So much goodness, so much Scoop.

As The Best Offseason Ever turns we take a deeper look into the series of episodes going on at Baylor. This thing has more spin-offs and characters than Law and Order, there just doesn’t to be any law and order. It’s unfortunate that some special victims are being punished for crimes they did not commit.

Here’s Part I of this week’s Scoop.

5-star Allen commits to Texas

Jarrett Allen. (edit by Shane Ware)

AUSTIN — There’s nothing like home. At least to Jarrett Allen.

The Texas Longhorns Basketball team got a big commitment today when local 5-star product, Allen, from St. Stephens Academy in Austin, made his UT decision official.

We dive straight into the deep waters that are Baylor Football and how it affects Texas moving forward. We add recruiting notes/quotes on future visitors and new offers, and the latest on hoops recruiting and Shaka’s next recruit. We also drop the news that a current Texas coach is on BU’s radar to replace Art Briles. The Inside Scoop never disappoints.

Mondays in the Humidor – 5/16/16

In this tidbit version of Monday’s in the Humidor we’ve got you covered on the most important stories in the Longhorn sports cosmos. The news is good on all fronts (hoops and football) even if the volume of news is sparse. Punches are being landed on and off the field and that’s a good thing for Texas even if it’s not a Texas sized Humidor.

Recruiting is on the menu in this week’s Scoop. We hit up a handful of Spring practices this week and give you the latest on Texas targets. We talk about OL and WRs specifically and where UT stands with each. We talk to a couple prospects in town for the UIL State Track Meet and finish off with hoops news. It’s starting to get hot outside as the Scoop warms us up on Friday the 13th.
