When 6’0 sophomore guard Eli Long visited Texas this past weekend, the Canada native (and Mt. Saint Mary’s point guard) knew he was looking for something bigger than where he was.
AUSTIN — Shaka Smart and the Horns picked up a big time commitment when Mt. Saint Mary’s transfer guard, Elijah Long, gave Texas his pledge this afternoon.
Long, a 6’0″ guard who averaged 15 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists for the Mount.

Following the addition of Oak Hill (VA) point guard Matt Coleman, who officially signed with Texas this past Wednesday, head coach Shaka Smart called Coleman’s addition part of “an important stretch of days for us.” Coleman joins the 2017 class, but Smart is not through recruiting this spring as the Longhorns are in the mix for elite recruit Mohamed Bamba.
