Recruiting Wrap-up: 1/21/15

With only two weeks remaining until National Signing Day, there is constant movement on both sides of the spectrum. Texas commits are looking around, while other pledged prospects are interested in UT. It’s recruiting season and we’re out here hunting at Inside Texas. Here’s a weekly wrap-up. PLUS.. Update on UT’s in-home visit Gentry and two very big surprise visitors in Austin right now.

First of all, I feel sorry for the young man, in a damn-it-must-suck-to-hear-your-phone-ring-around-the-clock type way. In the short time I was with him he talked to Texas Tech, ignored a call from Baylor, and texted with A&M about official visit details. That doesn’t count the scribes looking for insights.

A 6-foot-7 quarterback. Two 6-foot-5 defensive ends. A class of offensive linemen, the smallest of which is 6-foot-3, 290 pounds. Upon Charlie Strong’s arrival he said he wanted to sign big players who can beat up smaller players. He’s holding true to form.
