COLLEGE STATION – In an exciting rivalry game, Texas got down early, clawed it’s way back, got down again, clawed back once more, but ultimately could not break through and grab the lead from the No. 19 Texas A&M Aggies. Head coach David Pierce said after the game he tried to treat this Tuesday like any other Tuesday. However, both he and junior second baseman Kody Clemens admitted they knew a little bit more was at stake with this one.

Although Pierce said after the game that freshman starter Nico O’Donnell wasn’t nervous, his pitching sure made it seem like it. He lasted just 0.1 innings, allowing the four A&M earned runs that put Texas in an early deficit.

Five distinct situations made this game the way it was.
