I still think it's too high, but there's plenty of time for it to change this year.

77.........I don't know. Not many people thought we would be 8-1 at this point. We should win tonight and Michigan St is very winnable. The only loss I see until conference starts is Wisconsin in Madison..........(I think we can win it but that is a tough well coached team) 12-4 in conference is a very good possibility. So going into the Big 12 Tournament we will be 24-6? With one of the toughest schedules in the country.........I say we finish in the top 10.....if we stay healthy.

If we get to 24-6 then sure, we deserve it. I'm just seeing too many cracks in the facade to be comfortable with a top 10 rankings at this point. This team is definitely capable of being a top 10 team, I just don't feel like any team with inconsistent PG play & horrendous FT shooting should be rank in the top 5.

I would definitely agree with the FT's......and I would add the inability to create offense off of the dribble.......that has to happen with Damion. I think Mason is fine at point and Balbay will get better as the year goes on. Man if we would have had Balbay last year to give us 10 + mins we might have won the National Championship....or at least the Final 4

I think you're forgetting how badly Memphis throttled us. That game wasn't close, and Balbay wouldn't have made much difference.

No I remember vividly.......my thinking was along the lines of we get a number one seed with one or two more wins during the regular season and we don't have to face Memphis until the Final 4...........

77, good call. this team is no where near a top 10 team.
Sad but true.

Poor offense and defensive lapses sure cost us today... As players develop as the season goes on, they can definitely be a top 10 team. But as of now, it's hard to argue a ranking as high as they were.

I'm not sure I agree with that, as I can't think of 10 teams that are better than Texas on a neutral court. I do think the team's got some work to do though, obviously.

I have to agree that UT is not a top 5 team this year. We need a good PG to jump to that level. I say their legitimate rank is 12-15.

Well, there was a prime opportunity this week to dump them into the third five, and it didn't happen.
Let's see what happens tonight in Madison...
