When is someone going to not only say "enough is enough" but do something about the lunacy?

But chefs say they’re being terrorized by activists who post their pictures on extremist animal-rights websites, and are using social media to stage protests. One prominent East Coast chef (who asked that his name not be used) told FoxNews.com that he received notes telling him they know where his family lives.

Gotta love Bourdain:

Bad boy chef Anthony Bourdain tweeted earlier this week about radical activists using telephoto lenses to shoot chefs’ children and then send chefs the pictures. He followed up: “Every time a chef is threatened someone should skin a panda.”

Three thoughts:

1. To borrow from Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington: "That's how states rights go." If the citizens of California want to outlaw foie gras, veal, or even all meat in general, then I suppose that's their right. I don't agree with it, but, then again, I don't want them forcing their outlandish opinions on me here in Texas, either.
2. I would hope that each state would have a criminal offense that would cover photographing the children of, and using them to intimidate, chefs. That's terrorism. There's simply no other word for it. When you threaten someone's children for a political end, then you deserve to be imprisoned, maimed, and/or killed. If you threaten mine, then it'll more likely be one of the latter two.
3. Bourdain is hilarious, but his rhetoric isn't likely to do anything but escalate the conflict. He should have said "skin a protester" instead of "skin a panda." To borrow from Sheriff Buford T. Justice: "The GD pandas got nuthin' to do with it." Plus, they apparently know kung fu.
