I would agree that the Republicans are playing a dangerous game if they would rather bring down the economy than meet the President at least part of the way.

Obama has hung his hat on this economic plan and if it does not work in two years he will have to deal with a Republican majority in the House.

Well, no. If the plan doesn't work, the President can always point to the 'pubs' insistence on watering it down as the REASON it didn't work.

Why would it need to be watered down when the Democrats have the majority? Not a single Republican voted for it and yet it still passed easily. The Republicans are making a calculated risk, plain and simple.
