Default 2010 Texas Top Ranked Football Players (Consensus) Updated: July 4th

I know there has been alot of confusion to some (including me) as to why the the various recruiting sites had huge marginal differences on some of the recruits. I know the main reason seems to be that some of the sites have yet to analyze enough video on the recruits. Nonetheless, I have taken the time (lots of it) to compile a Consensus Ranking of the 2010 Top Texas 100 Football Recruits from the 3 major recruiting sites: ESPN (InsideTexas), Rivals (Orangebloods), & Scout (BurntOrangeBeat). This is how I came to my rankings: I took the ranking of each recruit from each of these 3 sites and just totaled up the sum of all 3 rankings. The recruits with the lowest total were ranked the highest.

As you can also tell from the attachment of the Ranking list, only the top 84 players on that list, were the only recruits to have been ranked by all 3 recruiting sites listed above. The remainder of the list (85-99) were all ranked by 2 out of 3 of the recruiting sites listed above. This might give us more of an idea of where these players should be ideally ranked with a combined effort of all 3 recruiting sites.

And to answer the question before it is asked: How much time did I have on my hands to be able to put this list together? Lots of Time!

I hope you guys enjoy and I apologize to the moderators if this list in some way steps on the toes of your recruiting analysis.

Ok... I must admit, I might be computer iliterate as I have had no trouble in the past of attaching a file from Microsoft Word (.doc). If someone could help me out with this, I would love to attach the Consensus list I have complied for you guys. Thanks in advance!

Its nice to see that Aggie has 1 so far in the top 100. Hee, hee! Looks to be another stellar year for Sherm and Co.

Eat your hearts out, doggie worshipers.

Of course, 7 of the top 9 on this list are still uncommitted. How many of them do we get, and who gets the rest?

I think we do as well as we did last year. 5 or 6 of the Top 10 players. Honestly I don't have a preference for one player more than another. They're all great prospects and would be an asset to our program. I trust Mack and I don't see him recruiting immature prospects or diva's regardless of their talent.

Btw...I updated my list above to include R. Wilson as a commit to Texas. If this thread is still on the front board during the commits of anyone else on the list (including other schools) I will be happy to update the list accordingly. Feel free to let me know of any other recruit on the list that commits.

18 of the top 44 in state players (so far) might be the best any team has ever recruited the state.

Yep, Texas has an almost 1 chosen player out of every two players, up to that point, on the list. That is rather incredible. With the type of success that the Texas staff is experiencing this early in the recruiting process, you would think that we had just won the National Championship this year!

A big thank you vette !!

Not to be a wet blanket, but there is mucho talent still on the board and the gooners have lots of time AND schollies to grab a gob of the highly rated uncommited - we've fired our shots.

Excellent class. Another way to say it: we've already got half of the top 34 in the state (one shy, 16 of 34!)

And we'll get another 2/3 more commits from the outstanding offers.

But I sure like where they've landed.

Yes, the gooners will get their share...we can't take 'em all.

And there are always a few kids living in the State of Texas that either turn their backs on home (i.e. the State of Texas) or simply don't have the grades for UT. The gooners have made a livin' off these types of kids for decades. Add another 1 or 2 blue chippers from the State of Oklahoma, plus at least as many from elsewhere in the country, and ousux will be more than competitive.

There were a couple of recent Aggie commits that I added to this consensus list. They were RB Ben Malena and LB Dominique Patterson. If I have left any other recent commits out, please let me know and I will gladly fill them in.

What? No "Top 10" recruits?

Seriously, I'm glad that Aggy picked-up three "Top 100" DFW area kids, thus keeping them away from OU (who usually does very well in the metropolex). I'd rather have them stay in-state, even to Aggy, than go out-of-state to OU.
