Your first mistake - reading NYT. Your second mistake - expecting unbiased reporting from them.

The link was sent to me by my brother in law (he lives in the city).

I hate that biased f*cker so much. And his stupid ass hair. I should take a quick train ride up there just to punch him in the goddamn gut.

Also, no one except him is questioning if we should play in the championship game if we win out. No one.

I'll cover the train fare.

The piece Thayer did on McFarland's recruiting was biased and shoddy journalism.

I don't have a problem with this piece though. We won a close victory against a 6-6 team that has lost twice by 50 or so to teams who themselves aren't that great.

People watching that game last night will question whether we deserve to play in Pasadena.

I was not familiar with Thayer Evans. So I looked him up in Wikipedia:

Yet no one questions whether Alabama (12-10 vs. TN at home) or Florida (23-20 vs. Arky at home) should be there and both had squeaker wins against inferior teams. That's just BS!

Whenever a BCS contender has a bad game questions will arise about whether they belong in the championship game. It's inevitable in a non playoff system.

Both Florida and Alabama have had games they should have lost, but no one says anything about them not being worthy of the MNC game. The ONLY reason 'Bama beat Tennessee is because their field goal kicker forgot to kick the ball above the line of scrimmage instead of into the butt of the offensive linemen....TWICE!!

We are much more deserving to play in the MNC than both Florida and 'Bama.

Unless they play in the SEC... Then it's called parity.

particularly since both benefited from biased and missed calls ( Cody's helmet off after the missed kick should have resulted in a re-kick).

Think about this guys.. .what relevant college football team in NY does he have to right about? Syracuse and Buffalo? Other than the Yankees..look at the quality of any of the sports teams in that city or State.

I think this guy lives in the Houston area but writes for the NYT.

I will not read anything he has to write.

Is this the person we are talking about...

"Thayer Evans is a freelance writer who has been contributing to The New York Times for two years. Evans also writes for the Houston Chronicle as well as other newspapers and magazines. He played college basketball at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, an NAIA school in Bartlesville, Okla. He was best known for sporting a blooming afro, wearing a winter hat during practice and coming off the bench to deliver hard fouls to opposing players."

Too much time spent in Oklahoma does that to a person.

Since 'Bama had to come from behind to win with less than 2 minutes to play, shouldn't mr evans write an article indicating that they don't belong in discussions regarding the MNC?? 'Bama beat Tenessee by 2 points and Auburn by 6 points....according to mr evans' criteria, they just aren't a top 5 team!!

It was CondorKiller that wanted to punch him in the gut. I was just willing to cover the airfare. I'm a lover not a fighter.
