As you all are likely aware, Andrew Jones made it official last night and declared for the draft meaning both of Texas’ high level freshmen (along with Jarrett Allen) have submitted their names to the NBA without hiring an agent.
What does this mean? Well, in essence it means that they are eligible to take part in workouts/combines/interviews with NBA scouts, executives and teams in order for both the teams and the players to ascertain what each player’s draft range might be.
If you’re looking for an inkling of hope, the rope to cling to is that neither have hired agents, which means both are still considered amateurs, enabling them to continue playing at Texas should they opt to return to school.
