Inside the Gameplan: Oklahoma State, Baylor, TCU

In recent years, a scheduling stretch that pitted Texas against Oklahoma State at home before taking them on a tour of Waco and Ft. Worth would be a trip through the valley of death for the Longhorns. In 2017, that probably won’t be the case.

The Oklahoma State game is a challenge due to its placement after contests with the other two most likely Big 12 championship programs, Kansas State and Oklahoma. If Texas is beat up or hanging their heads after those contests then a return home to play Oklahoma State will be particularly alarming. Baylor and TCU on the other hand both took some hard slides in 2016 and only TCU looks remotely likely to recover in 2017.

The hope for Texas will be to go 2-1 through this stretch, anything worse probably indicates either a somewhat disappointing season or an unexpectedly good one for one of these schools (probably TCU). Here’s what Texas is facing in this stretch…
