Texas is heading to the Academy Sports + Outdoors Texas Bowl, the bowl announced today. The Longhorns will take on former Big 12 member Missouri at NRG Stadium in Houston on December 27.

About Mizzou:
They played one of the easiest schedules in the SEC this season. They’re a marginally average team with an exceptional QB in Drew Lock. (I actually broke Lock’s offer from Texas, by accident. Sorry, E)

The RS Soph set the all-time SEC single season TD passing record with 43 this past year. He’s a Top 10 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Big arm, good decisions, and smart. WR J’Mon Moore is his go-to receiver.

Mizzou finishes the regular season on a 6-game winning streak, but drew a favorable schedule in 2017 ducking Alabama and the MISS schools. It took a Tucker McCann last second FG to knock off the Hogs, 48-45, to cap the regular season.

We’ll have more later today when the schedule is announced, but any reason to return to the scene of the Arkansas massacre is worth redemption.

Not to mention the proximity of Houston area prospects. Kenyon Green, Deondrick Glass, Marcus Banks, Jamal Morris, and Erick Young are just a few of the junior targets with UT offers and interest.
