AUSTIN — First, Herman went into Oklahoma to secure Sooner legacy Casey Thompson’s committment to the burnt orange and white.
Then, he and offense coordinator Tim Beck tried to go after Oklahoma’s other QB prize, 2018 Newbury Park (CA)’s Cameron Rising. They succeeded, as Rising flipped from Oklahoma to Texas this evening.
From Eric Nahlin on 3/13/17: California’s Cameron Rising is another name to watch, and the recent offer will likely visit. I don’t think he’s as solid to OU as the Sooners would like, and he’s even mentioned having interest in UT, as well as Florida being his dream school.
Rising becomes the fourth member of Texas’ 2018 class joining Casey Thompson (Southmoore [OK]), Byron Hobbs (FW Eastern Hills), and Justin Watkins (Ocala [FL] Vanguard).
