546 yards of offense at 6 yards a pop and 40 points (albeit after two overtimes, but with two bricked field goals) on the board against a reasonable defense only happens with positive changes in offensive approach and personnel.

The insertion of a poised young freshman QB well-suited to run Herman’s offense was the most obvious catalyst, but there’s more to it. I don’t think Ehlinger is as effective without the tweaks in supporting personnel and philosophy that played to his strengths. I also thought personnel and scheme reinforced the other for the first time this year.
