We struggled to identify any new corners who should be on the Texas radar, but the top tight ends need little introduction. It’s the best cycle in years with five guys who should be under consideration, though Brock Wright would require a miracle to flip from Notre Dame.
The new offense requires a bigger body who can align tight and help the run game bludgeon defenses. If that receiver is a threat in the open field, he’ll get some targets as well. The more efficacy that player has as a blocker, the more defenses will be lured to sleep and made to pay down the seam. Major Tennison is perfect in this role, and you can also flex him out wide to get a bigger blocker in the screen game.
It’s not Tennison’s fault he’s been mis-ranked this whole time. He’s a player you should be excited about.
Texas would love to take two in the cycle. It’s definitely a good cycle, and 2018 should be as well.
