Anthony Cook - HT: 6-1 WT: 170 ( 4.69 ) Houston - Lamar

Cook is an elite cornerback prospect with the prototypical height and length that college coaches covet. He's light, which is usually the case for players with similar height/length ratios, especially at this stage of their development. It's apparent Cook has very good ball skills. I'm very impressed with the coverage awareness he displays, specifically in zone coverage. A couple of times on film he is able to put himself in the correct position to make a clean break on the ball after deciphering the quarterback’s intentions.

A long strider who hasn't posted the most superb 40 times but covers a lot of ground and is able to disrupt passing windows with his size/length. I would like to see him use better technique when making tackling in the open field. Good feet, hip flexibility, able to change direction easily and run stride for stride with receivers while blanketing them.

His pyhsical upside is through the roof, the complete package at corner. A top national prospect that already holds offers from some of the top programs in the nation.

Cook (No relation) is one Texas is definitely on. He's visiting for ND. That Lamar defensive backfield is pretty strong, would be one of the top DB groups in the state of Grant Delpitt didn't go to IMG, and still pretty solid

2018 btw

He's Cuffee's cousin I believe. Texas should have a great shot at landing him.

He reminds of Holton in a lot of ways. Reagins - the DB coach - at Lamar knows how to teach them. Cook's a tad bit shorter than Holton, and both are narrow in the shoulders, but they can pick their feet up and put them down with the best of them.

Do you think Cook is worthy of 5 stars or is he a tad over ranked at that level? Don't misinterpret, He appears to be a great prospect, but maybe a tad lofty in his early ranking.
