When going behind the scenes at how the 2021 class came together for the Texas Longhorns, you end up covering how it unraveled.
This 2021 group showed signs of promise two summers ago when Katy Tompkins QB Jalen Milroe committed. That commitment, in combination with the dormant 2020 class waking up, created a groundswell of interest from some of the elite prospects in the state.
#Milroe gave the program a much needed shot in the arm before things came undone on the field. Besides on-field play, another issue this class faced was organization behind the scenes. When the new coaches arrived, they pretty much did their own thing and the personnel department was undercut. Consequently we started to see really poor processes across the board.
