Inside Texas has learned freshman quarterback Ja’Quinden Jackson’s name is in the NCAA Transfer Portal. Jackson, a four-star prospect from Duncanville, did not appear in a game this season.

Jackson is the fourth player from the 2020 roster to enter the portal, joining Kenyatta Watson II, Byron Vaughns, and Daniel Carson.

Texas secured Jackson’s commitment over Alabama, LSU, SMU, and Oklahoma, joining Hudson Card in the two quarterback 2020 class. During his career at Duncanville, Jackson led the Panthers to two state championship appearances and named an Under Armour All-American.

He was rated as a four-star prospect with a .9664 composite ranking. He tore his ACL in the 2019 state semifinals but eventually recovered. Jackson was listed as the fourth quarterback on the most recent depth chart released by Texas.
