With only a couple of prospects left on the radar for 2009, the Texas Longhorns got a chance to evaluate some of the top prospects in the 2010 class on Sunday. One of the more highly touted players in attendance was Eisenhower defensive tackle Jay Guy. Guy has had Texas at the top of his list from the beginning and things didn’t change over the weekend.
Jay Guy, like many of the other 2010 prospects in attendance, arrived in Austin this weekend looking to impress the Texas coaching staff.
“It went fine, real fine,” Guy said when asked about the camp experience. “I think I did real well.”
Guy was satisfied with his performance in drills and it appears that the Texas coaching staff was as well. According to Guy, Mack Brown and company will be checking him out during his junior season at Eisenhower.
“I talked to a few of the defensive line coaches,” Guy said. “They said they were interested and would be watching me in the fall.”
Guy has consistently named Longhorns as his overall favorite during the past two months. Guy was very impressed by the facilities that UT provides to its athletes during Texas’ spring game earlier this year and he reiterated that point on Sunday.
“They showed us the stadium and practice facility,” Guy said. “They are the best in the world, I think.”
Other than Texas, Guy is also very interested in Florida and LSU. However, his trip to Austin will likely be his only camp visit this summer.
