The Longhorn nation is abuzz about 2009 recruiting and one of Texas’ top targets is Kenny Vaccaro. The Brownwood DB received an offer this past weekend, but is still thinking about whether or not he wants to accept and give Texas head coach Mack Brown a commitment.
Kenny Vaccaro was among the group of top high school juniors who visited Texas this past weekend. All-in-all, the Longhorns already hold seven commitments for 2009 and Vaccaro could soon become Texas’ eighth, just not yet.
Rumors surfaced that Vaccaro was already verbally committed, but the Brownwood DB says not so fast.
Vaccaro informed Inside Texas on Tuesday night that he has not given a commitment to the Longhorns yet, but that he will if everything goes well when he returns to Austin for Texas’ second Junior Day on February 23rd.
Vaccaro said that he and his mother are “still talking” about whether or not he’ll pull the trigger, but the Brownwood speedster is very close to making his decision.
Last season, Vaccaro posted 110 tackles and 7 INT’s as a junior, earning first team all 16-4A honors along with first team All-Big Country and Honorable Mention All-State.
