Garland Rowlett wide receiver Marquise Goodwin has made it no secret that Texas is at the top of his list, but are the Longhorns interested? IT caught up with Goodwin to talk a little recruiting.
“I’ve been getting a lot of letters, but I don’t have any offers yet,” Marquise Goodwin said. “I’m getting mail from Florida, Texas A&M, U of H, Oklahoma State, OU and Texas Tech.”
One school that hasn’t been showing much interest in Goodwin is the Texas Longhorns. Goodwin is hoping that he can step his game up in hopes that UT will start recruiting him a little harder.
“I’m not,” Goodwin said when asked if he was receiving any mail from Texas. “I don’t know if they will. We will just have to wait and see.”
“Texas,” Goodwin said when asked if he had a favorite. “That is my die hard school. They just haven’t been recruiting me. That lets me know that I have got to step up my game even more.”
Of the schools that have been showing interest, Florida and Texas A&M have a slight advantage over the rest.
“Texas A&M and Florida,” Goodwin said. “They both have good winning histories, Florida especially with the national championship. People are going to see that national title and want to go there.”
Goodwin hasn’t been able to make any games on Saturdays, but he is going to try and make it to a Big 12 game in the next couple of weeks.
“No I haven’t, but I’m trying to go to the Texas/Texas A&M game,” Goodwin said.
Goodwin has enjoyed a successful junior season thus far. In nine games, he has around 600 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
