Defensive end Alex Okafor helped lead Pflugerville High School all the way to the state championship game during his junior campaign and has since turned his focus to recruiting. Okafor is scheduled to attend three different junior days over the next month and possibly a fourth.
“As of right now, I’m planning on going to LSU, Texas and Stanford,” Alex Okafor said. “I might go to Oklahoma also, but I haven’t decided yet.”
Okafor’s first stop will be in Austin on February 10th followed by a trip to Baton Rouge on the 23rd. The last scheduled stop of his tour will be at Stanford on the first day of March.
Okafor has been high on both the Longhorns and the Tigers for quite sometime, but it’s the Cardinal that has made the biggest impression over the past few weeks.
“Pretty much,” Okafor replied when asked if Texas and LSU were still his top schools. “But Stanford has also grabbed my attention. Also, Stanford just offered a couple of weeks ago.
“They started recruiting me strongly. I’ve just been thinking about it a lot, and I wanted to take a visit down there” Okafor added.
What does Okafor like about Stanford?
“The education and the environment,” Okafor said. “It’s California, and I have heard the campus is amazing down there.”
Okafor also holds scholarship offers from Nebraska and Texas Tech.
