Redshirt junior offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi is expected to opt out of the remaining two games and bowl game, according to multiple sources.

Cosmi, a fourth-year player from Humble, is expected to be one of the first offensive linemen selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. After redshirting in 2017, Cosmi took over at right tackle midgame against Maryland in 2018. He held that spot for the remainder of the 2018 season, and moved to left tackle in 2019 after Calvin Anderson graduated.

Cosmi elected to return to Texas in January for his fourth season.

UPDATE: Cosmi formally announced his decision Sunday afternoon.
