I thought it might be fun to reflect on Steve Sarkisian, the player. He was a coach in a player’s body long before he was drawing a paycheck.
After an improbable journey that began as a JUCO baseball player, Sark found himself as BYU’s starting QB in 1995/1996 and that 14-1 1996 team is remembered fondly in Provo still today. I remember Sarkisian then and thinking, “Well, there’s a guy maximizing his talent level.”
