The Texas Longhorns picked up their seventh commitment from the class of 2009 when Cedar Hill offensive tackle Thomas Ashcraft gave his verbal to Mack Brown and company. Ashcraft’s father talked about the decision.
“Yeah, he committed to Mack Brown tonight at about 7:45,” Thomas Ashcraft’s dad informed IT.
The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Ashcraft chose Texas over offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, Houston, Nebraska and Kansas State. In the end, it came down to comfort level with Ashcraft.
“I was just that it felt like home to him,” Ashcraft’s father said. “He really enjoyed the visit yesterday, and he liked the family atmosphere. He just felt real comfortable with all of the coaches.”
