I'll have a recap breaking down the 100 by position, by high school and by college. I'll also rank the out-of-state commits to offer an idea how I view them against some familiar names. But for now here's the final edition of the Inside Texas Top 100 for 2015 recruiting rankings.
Now we're getting in some high cotton. These guys are expected to be multi-year starters if not outright studs. That won't always occur for various reasons, but talent shouldn't be a limiting factor. Each player has at least one defining trait which should smooth the transition from high school to college.
Being a former Longhorn player is very low on the list of reasons why a coach should be hired to return to his alma mater. I've actually seen the suggestion of Vince Young as quarterbacks coach on this here internet. Even for one of the greatest Longhorn heroes ever, that should count for next to nothing. Rising through the coaching ranks, much like playing time, should be a meritocracy.
We start 2015 with a jam-packed Inside Scoop. We look at the coaching upheaval and what we expect next. We touch base with some Florida contacts and gather the latest. We also talk to recruits at Army All-America and talk to a top recruit after the UT coaching change. Plus, Taylor's back and J'Covan Brown news. All in the Scoop.
As I sit here in the Orlando airport I'm reminded of the EPIC airport thread that broke out the other day. Truly worthy of the perma-pin any time you have a thread produce such organic quality. Next time I hope we can talk about truck stops. More from Orlando at the Under Armour All-star festivities.
Some decently interesting stuff in here but no new revelations, I don't think. I missed a couple of guys I'll try and get tomorrow. It's impossible to get everyone in one fell swoop when a gathering like this gets out. Remember the game Red Rover? Now send 100 football prospects right over at the same time. Here's what I got.
