The team is on spring break before beginning practice on Tuesday so we'll focus on recruiting. We've been asked about the UT Big Board. This obviously isn't official but it very closely aligns with where the staff's collective head is at. If a player isn't mentioned it doesn't mean the staff doesn't want him and we very well could be missing on a priority player or two, but this is very a close depiction under ideal circumstances.
If the bowl game was a glimpse into next year -- and with almost everyone who played significant snaps returning it can be construed as such -- the win over Missouri could be telling, and I'm only partially referring to the outcome. The West Virginia win was big in many regards. We've been mentioning how big the win was for team psyche and long-term buy-in, but it was also a good opportunity to raise some money for the school. A booster or two took it upon himself to get the hat passed around and a significant amount of money was pledged in a short period of time. Even at the season's lowest points we mentioned Herman was under no heat from the school or boosters but that doesn't mean key players were in a hurry to part with money. The WVU win was a nice little windfall for your struggling little athletic department.
