As we enter the dead period (June 25th-July 24th), things are relatively quiet on the 40 Acres. In the land of Inside Texas, we're embarking on a full week. My main man Eazy is about to enter fatherhood, Ian's cooking up the goods in his Gameplan, and Joe and I will be in Frisco on Friday for the Opening. We decided to drop a few recruiting nuggets and hold a Monday Q&A. Get a dose.
As we approach Spring, Texas is hosting a number of targets each weekend, including some of the state's best on Saturday and Sunday. We talk to them, add notes on other primary prospects, and where the Horns stand with the state and nation's elite. It’s March. Let’s Scoop.
Coming off a fairly solid recruiting weekend for the Longhorns, Tom Herman and his staff made a few moves, hosted a handful of targets, extended a handful of offers, and continue to build on the Class of 2018, while looking ahead to 2019. The Scoop gets you caught up.
The Christmas Eve Edition of the Inside Scoop talks to the top RB in Texas, one of UT's top LB targets, who's the slot take for 2018's class, and final thoughts from another Texas High School Football State Championship week. Santa put the Scoop under the tree early. Enjoy.
In years past we've discussed the type of seasons Texas would need to have in order to keep recruiting going. Not all 8-4's or 7-5's are created equally. Losing close, winnable games, while leading in the 4th, is heartbreaking, but it also gives you hope that in the future those turn into close wins. That's much different than going 7-5 or 8-4 with blowout losses. For recruits, the feeling is extremely positive. To a man, they feel once they get to campus they can help the team get over the hump.
