Throughout the history of its athletic department, the Texas Longhorns have been members of four different intercollegiate athletic conferences. Over the past 125 years, Texas has been a part of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Southwest Conference, and Big 12 Conference.
On Monday, the University of Texas and University of Oklahoma made it clear to the Big 12 they wanted out of the conference. On Tuesday, the two schools officially signaled their intended destination.
