Some high quality prognostication from the staff at Inside Texas in this week's Pressbox from Lubbock. We predict the UT/Tech outcome, TV appearances between Strong and Kingsbury, and our Upset pick of the Week.
Inside Texas? More like Inside Florida after Strong and the UT staff hands out offers in the Sunshine State. We talk tons of recruiting, Strong's Florida coaching ties, a Texas commit looking at A&M, and an A&M commit looking at Texas, plus the other 2014 hoops recruit. All in the Scoop.
Texas took a step back in the Charlie Strong reclamation project against the Wildcats. We anticipated in this space that the combination of Wildcat complexity on offense, Texas youth on offense, KSU quality on defense, and oppressive road atmosphere for Strong’s crew would likely equal a costly lesson for the Longhorns.
Someone asked Texas Defensive Coordinator Vance Bedford about a potential bowl game this year for the Longhorns, but he didn't bite Wednesday at his weekly press availability prior to Saturday's matchup with Texas Tech in Lubbock.
What happened? After brilliant efforts against Oklahoma (4th quarter) and Iowa State, the Longhorns offense did not come to play. Pure and simple. The offensive line got manhandled, except for a sweep to the left where Malcolm Brown got six yards in the 1st quarter and was not ran again. The Texas running game is non-existent.
