Though signing day was Wednesday, Steve Sarkisian wasn’t quite finished with the 2021 class.

Los Angeles (CA) Brentwood School quarterback Cole Lourd accepted a preferred walk-on spot with Texas on Thursday.

Lourd chose the Longhorns over scholarship offers from LSU, Ole Miss, Liberty, and several Ivy schools.

Lourd is the grandson of the late Jim Bob Moffett, a 1990 inductee into the Texas Athletics Hall of Honor.

During the 2019 season, the most recent football season played in California, Lourd completed 181-of-312 passes for 2833 yards with 32 touchdowns to seven interceptions. He added 213 yards on the ground with six rushing scores.

Lourd joins Austin High’s Charles Wright as quarterbacks in the 2021 class.
