AUSTIN — While the Longhorns had an eventful April in recruiting, the momentum has carried over into May.

Texas lands 4-star kicker Cameron Dicker today from Lake Travis. He’ll join teammate Cade Brewer when the C/O 2018 enrolls next June. For Dicker, it was an easy choice.

“The huge history of Texas Football,” Dicker told IT today. “And the staff makes you feel like you’re a part of a family. I’m really excited.”

Dicker, 6-foot-1, 175-pound helped Lake Travis win the 6A D1 state championship last December. In two years he’s 20-of-25 on field goals, and 162 of 163 on extra points.

Cameron is a man of many talents. He was just named 2017 All-State Honorable Mention as a defender for the Lake Travis soccer team. Interesting also is that he was born in Shanghai and speaks fluent Chinese.

He only held a UT offer but also visited Arkansas and Oklahoma State.

Dicker becomes the 7th member of Texas’ 2018 class joining Ron Tatum (Putnam City, OK), Reese Moore (Seminole), Cameron Rising (Newbury Park, CA), Casey Thompson (Southmoore, OK), Byron Hobbs (FW Eastern Hills), and Justin Watkins (Ocala [FL] Vanguard).

Justin was born a sports fan. From the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Texas Rangers, he fell in love with sports at a young age. Justin lettere...
