Texas picked up a commitment on Monday from 2022 long snapper Lance St. Louis from Williams Field High School in Gilbert, Ariz. St. Louis received a scholarship offer on June 1 and wasted little time picking the Longhorns.

Kohl’s rates him as the No. 2 long snapper in the nation in the 2022 class.

Texas currently has two players listed as deep snappers on the 2021 roster in senior Justin Mader and junior Zach Edwards. Mader has held the starting deep snapper role since his arrival on campus in 2018. Edwards transferred from Oklahoma and has yet to play a game.

St. Louis is the ninth commit of the 2022 class joining Zac Swanson (Brophy College Prep – AZ), Kristopher Ross (Galena Park North Shore), BJ Allen (Aledo), Maalik Murphy (Junipero Serra – CA), Trevell Johnson (Arlington Martin), Jaydon Blue (Klein Cain), Armani Winfield (Lewisville), and Jaylon Guilbeau (Port Arthur Memorial).
