The Big 12 released the 2021 conference football schedule on Thursday, finalizing the slate for Steve Sarkisian’s first season in Austin.

Dates and opponents for the non-conference portion had already been announced. Texas opens the season at home versus Louisiana on Sept. 4, travels to former SWC rival Arkansas on Sept. 11, and returns home for a game with Rice on Sept. 18.

The conference opener for Texas will be a Sept. 25 contest in Austin versus Texas Tech. UT will then travel to Fort Worth to play TCU, then will return to the Metroplex one week later for the Red River Shootout versus Oklahoma on Oct. 9.

The Longhorns finish October with games versus Oklahoma State and at Baylor with the bye week sandwiched in between on Oct. 23. November opens in Ames versus Iowa State. Texas hosts Kansas on Nov. 13, then travels to West Virginia in mid-November for a game in Morgantown.

Texas closes the season at home with Kansas State on Nov. 27, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

The Big 12 Championship is scheduled to take place Dec. 4 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
