Right when the game was getting good, it was postponed.

Texas’ game two matchup with Texas Tech entered a rain delay with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Red Raiders led the game 5-3 when the teams were taken off the field.

Tech scored five runs in the sixth inning off Longhorn starter Tristan Stevens. After cruising through the first five, Stevens hit a batter then allowed a one-out double to put two runners in scoring position. After another walk, Stevens hit Jace Jung for the game’s first run.

Two batters later, Cal Conley doubled to score two and then scored on a wild pitch for a five-run inning.

Texas struggled against Red Raider starter Micah Dallas for much of the game before he was pulled in the eighth. He was charged with three earned runs, but only Ivan Melendez’s solo shot was scored against Dallas. Reliever Levi Wells issued back-to-back bases loaded walks to Melendez and DJ Petrinsky in the eighth before the game was postponed.

The game will resume with pinch hitter Silas Ardoin due up. Star Texas Tech reliever Ryan Sublette should be available for the pivotal at bat.
