Former Texas head coach Tom Herman has accepted an offer to be an offensive analyst/special projects coach with the Chicago Bears.

Herman joins Chicago head coach Matt Nagy and first-year offensive coordinator Bill Lazor in the offensive coaches’ room. This is Herman’s first NFL role after spending two decades in the college ranks.

In four seasons at Texas, Herman accumulated a 32-18 record, including a 4-0 mark in bowl games. His teams finished the season ranked three times, including a No. 9 AP poll finish in 2018. He moved from Houston to Austin after spending two years as head coach of the Houston Cougars, compiling a 22-4 record on Cullen Blvd.
