The University of Texas announced Tuesday that spring semester classes would be held entirely online beginning March 30. Several other important announcements regarding housing, research, and commencement were made as well, but one in particular had an effect on Texas’ ability to hold a spring game or spring practices.

Texas’ spring game was scheduled for April 25, but the university’s new restrictions means it won’t be taking place on that day. Tom Herman’s team has yet to start spring practice. The first day was scheduled for March 24.

The Big 12 previously announced that all conference and non-conference athletic competitions through the end of the spring semester were cancelled. It also announced all organized team activities whether organized or voluntary, including team and individual practices, meetings, and other organized gatherings were suspended until March 29, with the decision to be re-evaluated on that date.
