Two years ago Charlie Strong held his first JD in Austin with notables like Holton Hill, Cam Townsend, and Tristan Houston. It was the fundamental foundation for his first class.
Last year, the weather tried to slow down UT’s recruiting. Temperatures in the 30’s with wind and wet didn’t stop Shane Buechele, Jeff McCulloch, Zach Shackelford, and DeMarco Boyd from making an appearance.
Yet, this year’s JD crop could be the most talented in Strong’s tenure. Some of the state’s best will be in Austin from Baron Browning, Anthony Hines, and Jeffrey Okudah, to Longhorn pledges, Sam Ehlinger and Major Tennison. It will be a steady does of academics, locker room visits, and a Texas-Kansas hoops showdown. Not bad for a program coming off a 5-7 season and a crazy series of coaching changes. Here’s our Junior Day thread.
